Bottomline3
(BL^3) is a software package developed by Capiotech and the ISA
team at University of Sydney. Using this software
you can create a comprehensive sustainability report
simply by inputing your organisation's expenditure and
revenue accounts.
The BL^3 software takes your
organisation’s financial accounts, together with on-site
impact data, as input. The outputs are powerful diagrams
and tables that will form the backbone of a
comprehensive sustainability report. There is no
additional data collection effort. The software
calculates your Triple Bottom Line account for your
sustainability report directly from your organisational
financial data.
You can report across a wide
range of environmental, social and economic indicators -
you may choose from a bank of hundreds of predefined
indicators. The outputs include aggregate figures,
detailed breakdowns and rankings of indicators into
supply chain contributions.
The BL^3
software comes in three distinct versions, ensuring that
you can choose the most appropriate version for your
needs. In addition to the full "TBL" product, there are
Carbon and Footprint versions of the software that are
cheaper, and focus on two specific subsets of the
indicators available in the full product.
The indicators available in each of
these versions is as follows:
| Carbon |
This edition
uses the "Climate Change" suite of indicators.
This suite includes Greenhouse Gas emissions
(measured in tonnes of Carbon Dioxide equivalent)
including a breakdown into Carbon Dioxide,
Methane, Nitrous Oxide, Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon
Monoxide, Non-Methane volatile organic compounds,
Perfluorocarbon and Sulfur
Hexafluoride.

| Footprint |
This edition uses the
"Ecological Footprint" suites of indicators. These
suites include Land Disturbance, Biodiversity and
Land Use indicators (measured in weighted
hectares) with breakdowns including Built land,
Cropland, Dry cropland, Emissions land, Energy
land, Forestry, Forests, Irrigated cropland,
Nature conservation, Pasture, Plantations and
Water. |

This edition allows a
choice from all Bottomline³ social, economic and
environmental indicators. Pre selected indicator
suites include Balancing Act TBL suite, Australian
Ecological Footprint, Global Ecological Footprint,
